It's been raining here too! Which is awful. But we need the rain too. Whenever I complain that it's cold I just think of Elder Anderson and Beeston who are on bikes and I feel better. I feel bad for them. So we're lucky to have a car! So the card I sent has the translation on the back...so check that out. I'm just trying to teach y'all Spanish!
So this week was good, but we're getting to the point with our investigators that it's either you get baptized, or we drop them. We dropped Maria this week and it was SO SAD. I got to see and feel just a spec of what Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ feels when people reject the gospel and it hurt! She is so close, I just want this so bad for her! I hate how all these people have no idea how much happier they would be with the gospel! No matter how much we tell them, they let their pride and stubbornness get in the way. We just got in the car and cried. It was awful. But! That just means there are other people out there that are ready and we just need to find them! There's a few people that we've picked up that seem pretty legit, but we've only taught them once or twice, so it's kind of too early to tell.
We had the trainer/trainee meeting this week with president and sister Smart. SO GOOD. I love them! I'm sad I won't have them the whole time! They talked about the 10 things that will make us successful missionaries. And I learned that technically, Heavenly Father doesn't need our help for missionary work. He's God! He doesn't need our help with anything! He could do it without us, but he's allowing us to be apart of this work because He knows that it will not only benefit the other party, but it will benefit us even more. The mission makes us grow and refine us in the quickest best way to be truly converted to Him. So I've had a different out look on things this week. I'm so grateful He's allowing me to be apart of this great work. And in turn, He blesses us even more! It's great! Also, everyone that is preparing for missions, read Elder Holland's talk, "Missionary work and the Atonement" from the March ensign of 2001. SO GOOD! And everyone else should read it too!
I went on exchanges with Hermana Luccion this week and it was so fun! She's awesome! I love her! And I learned so much from her! She's a great missionary! Funny story of the week: So we were going to a dinner appointment and the person that answered said, "oh they live behind the gray door" so we were like oh the next house is gray, that must be it. So we knock on the door and this lady is like, "OH come in! Are you guys hungry?? I made curry!" So we're like yeah! We thought she like lived with the member or something, but we get back to the kitchen and it's all these people we don't know. And they're all white. So we just look at each other like uhhh this isn't it. Then this pig just runs in and starts jumping on me. Like what?? A PIG? turns out that wasn't it and it was the side apartment of the first house. We got a good laugh out of that one. Anyway! Have a good week!
Hermana Nelson
p.s. Justin Bieber is going crazy?? But don't worry, we prayed for him in our dinner prayer with Luna and we just laughed after.
p.s.s this pic is from this morning on our way over to email, there was like 200 sheep in the road that run up the side of this little mountain? We were like what the! Cause it's all houses around it so we have NO idea where they came from! So we took a picture, but they were running away from me.
